This preset is for MDF panels, often in metric stock sizes. It helps plan rectangular parts and waste, but it does not account for dust control, tool selection, edge finishing, or structural design.

Metric MDF workflow
Use millimeter dimensions consistently. Mixing inch-style part names with metric stock values can make the result harder to check.

When to add trim margin
Add a trim margin or reduce usable stock size if the factory edge is chipped, swollen, dirty, or not square enough for finished parts.

- Assuming every MDF sheet is exactly the nominal size.
- Ignoring edge finishing or oversize trimming needs.
- Using zero kerf for saw-cut MDF layouts.
