Grain Direction in Cut Lists

Grain direction controls whether a part can rotate in the optimizer. Cabinet sides, doors, visible shelves, and matching panels often need a fixed orientation even when rotation would save material.

When to lock rotation

Lock rotation when the visible face needs a consistent grain direction, when edge banding orientation matters, or when a manufactured panel has a directional texture.
